The Redmi 1s is a budget phone created by the China based company Xiaomi. It brings quality specs but is sold at a lower rate than most phones.
Specs and performance.
On the looks department, the Redmi 1S doesn’t make it obvious that it is a budget phone. Available in 3 colors, black, pink, and yellow in a matte finish, the design of the phone is sleek and can be easily comparable to premium phones.
Redmi 1S has a 4.7 inch screen with a 1280 x 720 display and with a 312 ppi produces a passable quality for text and photos. The screen is Gorilla glass 2 which is scratch resistant and reacts well to the touch. The phone runs on a Qualcomm 8228 Snapdragon 400 quad core 1.6Ghz at par with a lot of higher end phones. It has 1GB of Ram just like the Iphone 6, 8GB of internal memory, an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera with the usual android camera capabilities like wide angle shots, face recognition, HDR mode and real time filters.
The Redmi 1S comes pre-installed with android jellybean OS in muli-language. It is capable of dual sim and connects to a 3G network. The budget phone also is Wi-fi capable, with Bluetooth and GPS. Along with the connectivity it has various sensors built into it like Gyro, Proximity and a compass.
The battery life has a stand by time of around 2-3 days, which isn’t so bad.
Reception and expectations.
Following the success of the previously released MI 3, having sold over 95,000 units in India alone, Xiaomi has promised to make 40,000 units of Redmi 1S available for sale on Flipkart in India. But despite the huge amount being offered the demands of the consumer have not yet been met.
With that in mind, we could safely say that this budget phone sold at $150 is really revolutionizing this industry.
