What to Expect When You Walk Through the Golden Gates of E3

This year E3 is bigger badder and unbelievable cool. Hosted by the Los Angeles Conference Center the festivities are set to begin June 5 and continue on until the 7th. Since 1995 E3 has been giving us the inside looks on the latest games and consoles, and this year is no different. What does the three “E’s” stand for you ask? Well Electronic Entertainment Expo of course.

Expect to see all of the big wigs there with some of the coolest new releases we will be seeing in the future. They’ve got everyone from Sony to Nintendo, as well as Bethesda Games, Square Enix and Capcom, just to name a few. Our expectations of E3 2012 are high, and we hope that they deliver.

Games and More Greet You at the Door of This Years E3 Event

Among the long list of games that we will get to peek at, there are some that just stand out. Naughty Dog, the makers of the “Uncharted” series as well as “Jak and Daxter” will be bringing us “The Last of Us.” A third person action- adventure game that drops you in a post apocalyptic Pennsylvania where you have to fend off “the infected”, pour souls who were infected by a deadly fungal virus, and sometimes even other survivors. Naughty Dog has always given killer story lines and beautiful graphic creations, so this has gotten fans pretty pumped.

The real star of E3’s show this year is going to be Wii U. Nintendo will be debuting the whole enchilada this time, not just the bits and pieces we got last year. Complete with a touch screen controller, Nintendo really thinks they hit the nail on the head this time. Along with the big reveal should be a list of games to go along with it, including a new Super Mario.

Price of the Wii U has also been kept pretty hush hush. When will we be able to take one home and give it a whirl? Don’t be surprised if you have to wait until you open your Christmas presents as Nintendo will only say “Sometime after E3” and holidays do seem to be the time to push sales.

Who else will be there to show off? Square Enix will be releasing a new Hitman as well as Tomb raider along with a few others. Capcom has a new Street Fighter rolling down the line and if you’re into your classic zombie killing they have got you covered with a brand new Resident Evil 6, which is looking very promising, and highly addictive.

What is Sony bringing to the table this year? Well that happens to be shrouded in mystery, with them only saying that they will be bringing us “twenty new gaming experiences.” Did you hear the twilight zone music when you read that too? But don’t get too excited, rumors are that it’s definitely not the PS4.

What We All Hope to See- But Probably Won’t

None of us like a big juicy steak dangled in front of our faces and then yanked away, but there are some things we just have to hope for. Such as the Xbox handheld, Sony is rolling them out steadily so it’s about time that Xbox catches up, and rumors of the Xbox handheld just keep us hoping. What about Fallout 4? Bethesda games breaks out the big guns about once a year, and with no new word from them yet, our fingers are crossed for an E3 debut. Especially since speculations are that they’re using a similar platform to the uber popular Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls. Sony may even announce a PS Vita price drop. Okay, well this is just wishful thinking and it probably won’t happen but, hey, it could…right?

Not one of the fortunate souls attending E3 this year? That’s alright, we are here to keep you updated and on top of all things E3. See you on the other side.
