Tons of rumors are flying through cyber space right now, circling around the MacBook Pro. Mainly, that there has been some major, I mean major, leaks over the specs we will be seeing in the new Macbook, including the prices.

Not only have numerous website claimed that they have the leaked pricing matrix, but they also say that there has been a packaging label similar to what you see when you open up your new Macbook Pro box. This is pretty big stuff considering that the conference (The World Wide Developers Conference) where the MacBook Pro is to be officially (okay, hopefully) revealed is just around the corner.

Worldwide History

The Worldwide Developers Conference, hosted by Apple themselves, in the past has always given us some big news every year on their latest and greatest new Operating System, and this year should be no different. The Worldwide Developers Conference is set to start on June 11th and end on the 15th, and it will be in San Francisco.

But the WWDC is very tight lipped, and the only thing that they will say is that “this is the week everyone is waiting for.” Even the schedules are marked all over with “to be announced.”  Hopefully Apple can live up to the hype and deliver some pretty impressive new stuff.

What the Leak Tells Us

So what does the packing label tell us? Although it is unconfirmed, it is still telling what we pretty much already suspected. Here are some of the main goodies:
  • A high resolution display, which Apple has deemed the Retina Display.
  • 2.6 GHZ Quad core Intel Core i7 processor with a turbo boost up to 3.6 GHZ
  • Built in Face Time Camera
  • Thunderbolt support for ports that are I/O and Mini Display Port devices
  • USB 3.0
  • A thinner and Lighter design overall
  • Bluetooth 4.0

This is just a taste of what the supposed “packing label” gives us. But is it really that credible? Who really knows, as said before all of this info is still unconfirmed and could just be a way to hype up sales for Apple and get people talking about the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Onto the next major leak, the pricing matrix. It also confirms the fact that we will be seeing the MacBook Pro, iMac, Retina Macbook Pro and the Macbook Air being revamped and on the market soon. Although the pricing matrix is for Australia, we are getting a pretty good idea of what kind of damage the new MacBook Pro will be doing on our wallets.  It is rumored by this pricing matrix that the MacBook Pro will start at around $3,000.

What it all really comes down to is the the keynote of the Worldwide developers Conference- a super public, press crawling event where all the major announcements are made.  But until that keynote is presented, there is no peeking through the key hole to get a look at what’s in store, forcing us to just have to sit it out, and keep chanting to ourselves “patience is a virtue.”
